Millions of meters of plastic pipes are used in the soil worldwide. Eventually, these pipes – including pipes made of biopolymers! – fragment to microplastics and end up in our environment and drinking water. To do something about this, we founded the company Polybiotics Solutions together with P&J Milieu and FairFusion. Here, we develop and produce technology in which we use microbes to break down the material into environmentally harmless substances. The photo shows the production and a photo of the largest pipe made of biopolymers with the microbes produced. This was done for a project for the Dutch RailRoad company called ProRail
