RailTube

RailTube

RailTube is a system that absorbs vibrations in the ground

In the Netherlands there is the problem of vibrations in the ground due to, for example, a passing train. A pilot was recently carried out, financed by ProRail, in which the engineering firm Fugro carried out the soil research, the engineering firm Movares did the measurements and TNO did the modeling and calculations of the configuration. By forming so-called inclusions vertically, a phononic crystal is created. In the pilot we demonstrate the effect of the damping. Within the project we also test materials made from bioplastic. The tube used is produced using a mega-large 3D printer. By using bioplastic, we can also offer a 100% organic system
